| If it bothers you, don't look. My baby (due any day now) is going to have to eat. I happen to be equipped to feed him. He may need to eat in the middle of a store. Or a restaurant. Or in the middle of a mall. There are no good alternatives in most places. Restrooms are dirty and smelly and germy, and people don't appreciate you appropriating one for feeding your baby while they or their guyren wait frantically to use them for their intended purpose. Fitting rooms are cramped and uncomfortable, and again, people tend to object to having to wait half an hour or more to get in, try on their stuff, and get out. And I object to the idea that mothers should have to go out to the car when they are in public and the baby needs to eat. Sometimes it's 105 degrees in the car. Or sometimes it's five below. In any case, it's uncomfortable for mother and baby. Lest the "bottle option" be a question, I had a guy who would NOT take a bottle for ANYTHING. So my pumping and bringing a bottle for public feedings was not an option. Guess I should've just stayed home until she could eat solid food? I think not. I've always strived for modesty when nursing my babies, but there have been occasions when they pulled the blanket off my shoulder, or, for another example, when the ambient temperature of the restaurant where we were eating was so hot that I couldn't cover my guy with a blanket without her breaking into a sweat.
